What Have You Read?

Recently I read Cicada Summer by Andrea Beaty. I enjoyed this quick read about sixth grade student Lily and the huge secret she is keeping from everyone around her. Lily hasn't spoke since the accident that took her brother's life. The people close to her believe she has suffered brain damage from the accident and she does a superb job of continuing the charade. That all changes when Tinny shows up and is determined to hear Lily speak. I really liked this book because it was full of suspense...What happened to Peter? Who is Lily and why is she so determined to make Lily speak? Why did Tinny really come to Olena? Who is the mysterious man looking for Tinny and what does he want?
